Many believe that when establishing an online business setting up a business plan is optional. This isn't true and if continue to believe this way many it could lead to a path of destruction.
There is no need for a business plan since I am not answering to a boss; I'm working for myself so why would I need one? Would you go on a trip without a plan? Would you get married without a plan? Plans are a necessity with everything we do. Business plans will help you get and stay focused. While developing your business plan this will give you an opportunity to think through all aspects of your business and will guide you too success.
It will be necessary to invest in expensive software to establish a solid business plan. Of course software could help but is not necessary.
Hiring a consultant to help establish a solid business plan is the only way to be successful. You should have an idea of how you want your business to run if not all the consultants in the world won't help. It would be more beneficial to you and your business to find a coach or mentor to help guide you through the learning process, rather than hiring a consultant to do things for you.
Everything needs to be set up perfect before getting started. If you wait that long you may never start. Fix it as you go. Just make sure the major points are as good as they can be.
Once my business plan is developed I must follow it exactly or my business will fail. Sometimes detours or changes can be beneficial to your long term plan. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
My business plan must be typed, at least 50 pages long with a professional looking cover. You can write it on the wall as long as you can understand it and access it when needed.
The only reason I would need a business plan is if I'm getting a loan. With or without a loan you are still investing money into the business. Wouldn't you want to have a solid direction for your business and your investment? Make sure your business plan includes a solid budget.
Your business plan doesn't need to be something in writing; like mentioned above it can be written on a wall but you will need it written down. Many think that if they have a plan in there head they can move forward. Honesty will you remember it?
All advice comes from my friends and family to have a successful business. Think about this; could a city man tell a farmer how to run his farm? Your friends and family maybe great advisers if they are currently running a successful business. Keep in mind your business many be completely different and the advice they are giving may be meaningless for your business. Take advice from whomever you can gather valid points to use for your business. Remember that it is advice!
The bottom line; is it is very important to have a plan prior to starting your online business with a solid budget. Once you have established the plan remember you can make modifications and changes as your business grows. Never turn down advice but don't rely on only a few to give the advice.

The Big WHY of Working at Home!
With every online business opportunity you start you are always told to find your WHY. You probably asking yourself my WHY; well of course it is to make money isn’t that why everyone works?
Of course we all want to make money; what the experts are saying is find the deep rooted reason why you need this money. Your WHY could be to put food on the table, to stay home with the children, for financial freedom or a second income. There are so many reasons WHY we want to work at home with the end result of course being to make money.
My story or my WHY is for security in case my world collapses again like it did years ago. I had a great job working in an industry that I loved but suffered from extreme back and TMJ pain. I was unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and suffered terribly from an auto accident. Never in a million years did I ever think I would be out of work or loose my job after 11 years with the company.
Due to the extreme pain my jaw eventually locked on me and I was unable to perform my duties at work; since I worked in customer service. I was forced by the doctors to take some time off. The time turned into months leaving me with no other option but to be terminated from my position. The doctors even went so far as to tell me that I would never work in the same field again; if I returned to work it would be as a file clerk.
To make a long story short four years later I did return to the same line of work and beet the odds; but after I had seven surgeries and a lot of healing. I again love my job however I never want to be in the situation again were I can’t afford to loose my job. This is WHY I decided to start my own online work from home affiliate program.
With the security of my business if some unforeseen situation arises I know my family will be OK. Or if I decide I no longer wish to commute to a job I can become a full time affiliate marketer.
As you can see my end result is to make an income but what drove me to choose a home based business is very personal. The more personal your WHY the more likely you are to see success; you will strive harder. The end results will have more meaning than just another pay check. You will feel pride in your accomplishment.
Good luck and I hope that you find what you are looking for. There are many Honest, Work at Home Business Opportunities on the Internet; you just have to find the one that works for you!

Part Time On-Line Home Business
A challenge many face when starting their own On-line Home Business is the time. Many can only dedicate enough time to work part time; at least in the beginning. Don't be discouraged this can be extremely effective as long as you manage your time wisely and set goals.
Be specific when setting your goals of exactly what you want to accomplish since your time it limited. This way you can sit down and stay focused for the two or three hours you may have to work on that particular day. Remember the Internet never sleeps therefore you can work anytime day or night.
One of the hardest things about working on-line is staying focused. It is so easy to get off task and to let your computer become a distraction. I find myself being distracted with all the things you can do online; if I'm having writers block I may find myself heading for a gaming site to play. This doesn't help get any work done. Again stay focused remind yourself this isn't the time if I want my business to be successful.
Having a home office helps to let everyone know when you are working. Family distraction are one of the biggest problems with running a On-line Home Business. They seem to think that since you are home you can be bothered for the silliest things. This is why having a home office is helpful; let everyone know when you are in the office you are working. Do Not Disturb; unless it is an emergency.
Make yourself a to do list for your daily, weekly and monthly goals. Make sure to set a priority to each item; then work daily accomplish them. You will watch your business grow every time you are able to put a check mark next to a completed task on your list. This will give you the feeling of accomplishment and with that you can take pride in your success.
To be a successful On-line business owner there are a few things you will want to do on a daily basis. You will want to join a few forums so you can communicate with other business owners. Another good way to get your name out there is to post to these forums on a daily basis. Add posting to forums to your to do list; aim for 5 posts a day. Writing blogs and articles is also going to become an important part of your daily routine; aim for an article a week and increase from there.
These are just a few pointers to help you become successful with you On-line Home Business even if you can only dedicate part time hours.
